Safe House 2014 Update 02

Our second update unveils some of the first cast members of our campaign. In this instance I have used figures from East Riding Miniatures' Gang War range.

Now, it is necessary to provide some details of the starting locale for the campaign. We will be kicking off in the small, fictional city of Bloomburg aka. "Bloom" with action centring around, but not limited to, the intersection of Lilly Avenue and King Street (pics of the area coming soon). The corners of Lilly and King are controlled by the local street gang. I present The Lil' Kings (see what I did there?):

Dishonne "D Money" Williams (Leader)

Charelle Williams (D Money's "Moms")

Laquanda (D Money's girlfriend)

Tayvon

Mollique

Jamar

C.J.

Troy

Something tells me that C.J. will learn the hard way that the sights are on top of the pistol for a reason...

That's it for this week. Feel free to tell everyone you know about the Safe Houe Just Giving page.

  1. For some inexplicable reason, Gangstas, think it looks so cool to fire a pistol sideways. It isn't cool and as you say, it is a very inaccurate way to fire a pistol. Still, let them learn the hard way, I say. I'm not overly familiar with these figures but I do like them and I do like your purple gang colours for them. It ties them together very nicely.

    1. Agreed. It drives me bananas. There's a very good issue of The Punisher (Max) called "Up is Down and Black is White" that touches delicately on the subject.

  2. Looking good sir. Poor C.J. I sense a feasting driven demise? :)

    1. Yup, I expect them all to get dropped in pretty short order. These are the obligatory no-grey-area bad guys that aren't so bad as to be feared long term. Fodder basically.

    2. P.S. There will be more "fodder" gangers in due course. Bikers!

  3. The colours and specially the skin looks very good. The price is keen as well. I can see myself getting some of these.

    1. Thanks, Clint. I do have a bit of a love for these miniatures. There's quite an absence of consistently styled gang bangers out there and these just fit the bill perfectly.

    1. Ta, mate. I'd never seen them painted either and I was pleasantly surprised by how they turned out.

  5. Great paint jobs, I love that denim! I suspect you must have some wicked photography skills as well, as your photos are always so nice! :D
I love sideways shooting gangstas. That's just how it has to be done! :D

    1. Very kind of you to say, mate. The denim is really easy and since I'll be using it on a lot of my own minis, I'll add it to the list of tutorials coming shortly.

Next time I'm taking pictures I'll take one of my photography setup. You'll laugh your arse off. It brings all new meaning to the term "low tech". Lol.
